Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery of Ohio is looking for a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician to join our exceptional, quickly growing specialty practice in Columbus.
Job Title: Registered Veterinary Technician
Type: Full-time
Hours: Monday – Thursday, 7am – 5pm (no Fridays or weekends!)
Description: This individual will be responsible for an extensive range of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Placing IV catheters, administering oral and injectable medications, and accurately assessing various biological parameters in awake and anesthetized patients
- Operating radiographic equipment, including a dental x-ray generator and cone-beam CT
- Monitoring patients prior to, during, and after anesthetic procedures
- Performing dental prophylaxis and charting (after completion of a rigorous training schedule with use of microscopic loupes and light)
- Educating and interacting with clients through phone conversation and in-person appointments
- Assisting in the presentation of continuing education courses for veterinarians and veterinary technicians

Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrates a comfort with anesthetic monitoring protocols including blood pressure, capnography, temperature, and ECG, as well as a thorough knowledge of animals with complicated medical conditions that pose a higher anesthetic risk

Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery of Ohio is looking for a full-time Dentistry Resident to join our exceptional, quickly growing specialty practice in Columbus.
Job Title: DVM Resident in Veterinary Dentistry
Type: Full-time
Hours: Clinical days are Monday – Thursday, 7am – 5pm
Description: This three-year residency program in veterinary dentistry will expose the candidate to a multitude of dental and oral surgery cases that are unique to the field. The candidate will gain a thorough knowledge of dentistry disciplines, including endodontics, periodontics, orthodontics, exodontics, prosthodontics, and specialized oral surgery techniques. We regularly treat patients with fractured teeth, stomatitis, jaw fractures, oral masses, severe periodontal disease, and much more.
VDOSO is primarily a surgical facility; with the exception of one Tuesday a month (which is reserved for consultations), we perform multiple surgical procedures a day, Monday – Thursday. At first, the resident will exclusively learn through observation; only once the appropriate educational threshold has been met will the resident be permitted to perform surgical procedures.
Ideally, the program will begin in July of 2026; a start date before or after July of 2026 will be permitted but may shift the credential and exam timeline.

- Collect and process reservation fees, service payments, and CE fees

- Support daily clinic operations through administrative and front desk tasks

What You’ll Do
Patient Care & Monitoring
- Walk, feed, bathe, and monitor hospitalized patients
• Record TPR (temperature, pulse, respiration), weight, and other patient data
• Assist with patient restraint during procedures
• Monitor patients before and after anesthesia
• Administer oral, topical, and subcutaneous medications as directed
• Perform venipuncture under direct supervision
Dental & Surgical Support
- Perform dental radiographs and upload images
• Assist with dental charting (ADC and Ezyvet)
• Prepare and set up surgical trays for dental and oral surgery procedures
• Clean, lubricate, and pack surgical instruments per SOP
• Maintain dental units, autoclave, anesthetic machines, CBCT, and other equipment
• Prepare fluid bags and assist with patient movement in the dental suite
Client & Administrative Support
- Assist with patient intake and discharge
• Review discharge instructions with clients
• Collect payments as needed
• Answer phones and assist with scheduling when necessary
• Communicate basic veterinary concepts to clients clearly and professionally
Hospital Maintenance
- Clean cages, treatment areas, public spaces, and walking areas
• Perform laundry and general housekeeping duties
• Stock supplies and notify the Lead Technician of inventory needs
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional hospital environment
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
• Comfortable working around anesthesia equipment and surgical tools
• Exposure to animal-related hazards including bites, scratches, odors, and infectious disease
