Oral Surgery

Oral surgery encompasses a variety of surgical procedures performed in the mouth of pets. This includes extractions, jaw fracture repair, oral tumor surgery, tonsillar surgery, surgery of the palate, and surgery of the tongue.

Oral surgery can be necessary in the case of emergencies that affect the teeth or jaws, such as jaw fractures and palatal trauma. Taking biopsies and removing oral tumors can help make pets cancer-free.

For all major oral surgery cases, we have a special surgical tool called a piezosurgical unit. This allows for precise control when manipulating the tissues of the oral cavity, as it only cuts through bone. When we are performing surgical extractions we minimize bone removal in order to allow for quicker and smoother healing/recovery post-operatively.
