Pet Periodontics

Periodontal disease is a disease of the structures around the teeth, including the gum tissue and the bone. This is the most common disease in the mouths of dogs and cats. When pets are affected by severe periodontal disease, teeth may need to be removed. It is preferable to be able to save teeth whenever possible, and this can be done through a variety of periodontal surgery techniques as well as with a local antibiotic under the gumline. These treatments, combined with regular teeth cleaning, can help save teeth.
