Training at VDOSO

Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery of Ohio (VDOSO) offers quarterly in-clinic continuing education courses in dentistry for veterinarians and veterinary teams. Our practical and comprehensive courses are designed for general practice veterinarians and veterinary teams wanting to improve their knowledge and skills for everyday dentistry. Our small class sizes and hands-on labs allow for individual training to meet the needs of each participant. We take pride in helping veterinary teams enjoy dentistry by improving confidence.

Together in Practice: Multi-Specialty Veterinary Symposium

Date: September 25-27, 2026
Where: The Junto, 77 Belle St. Columbus, OH 43215
Who: Veterinarians, Technicians
Cost: $399 until July 15th, $499 after July 15th
Training Structure: This multi-day conference will feature lectures from specialists in dentistry, anesthesia, and cardiology. Our aim is to provide practical continuing education for veterinarians and technicians that they can apply immediately to clinical practice.

Dental Radiograph Positioning (OVMLB APPROVED CE - 4 hours)

Led by the VDOSO technician team

Who: Veterinarians, Technicians, Assistants, Veterinary Students
Cost: $375 per person
Training Structure: We will briefly cover the principles of obtaining dental radiographs then jump into an interactive hands-on lab using skulls and cadavers so that participants are able to master the ability to capture diagnostic images.

Attendance is limited. The course fee is due at the time of registration. Please call to register.

Dental Extraction Lecture and Lab (OVMLB/RACE APPROVED CE - 8 hours)

Led by Jamie Berning, DVM, DAVDC

Who: Veterinarians only
Cost: $2000 per person (includes a surgical pack to take home)
Training Structure: The day will begin with lectures that cover normal anatomy and common pathology, as well as dental radiograph interpretation. The afternoon session will be focused on extractions, including a hands-on lab.

VDOSO will provide a light breakfast (with coffee), and catered lunch.
